Chot hoping Jalalon's injury is nothing serious
The Star rookie point guard hurt himself during the second half against the Elite and was holding on to his left ankle after an apparent trip.

One development to watch out for from Gilas Pilipinas' 105-101 tuneup game victory over Blackwater Friday is the health of Jio Jalalon.

The Star rookie point guard hurt himself during the second half against the Elite and was holding on to his left ankle after an apparent trip.

He left the game and never returned.

There's no official word yet on Jalalon's official condition but national team head coach Chot Reyes is hoping for the best.

"Hindi ko alam kung si Jalalon, sana light lang yung ankle injury niya," he said on Jalalon's sprain.

With Gilas rushing into its Jones Cup preparations, Jalalon getting hurt would be a tough pill to swallow considering that Matthew Wright sat out against the Elite due to back spasms.

However, with a deep pool of players, Reyes can afford to put Jalalon on the shelf if he needs time to recover.

"At least we are getting a lot of guys that are coming in and playing," he said.
