Gilas Pilipinas ends Jones Cup stint against Iran
While this Iran squad is not the one the national team was used to dealing with before, it should still provide Gilas a tough outing.

Gilas Pilipinas finally reached the end of its nine-day grind in Taipei.

The Philippines caps its 2017 William Jones Cup stint Sunday against Asian rival Iran, looking to finish off the tournament on a high note despite the fact that a podium finish might already seem impossible.

At 5-3, Gilas is two games behind Canada and Lithuania for first place and is one back back against Korea for third.

Unless something amazing happens, the Philippines will most likely end up at fourth place.

Regardless, Gilas Pilipinas still has some business to attend to against the Iranians who are coming in with an even 4-4 mark.

While this Iran squad is not the one the national team was used to dealing with before, it should still provide Gilas a tough outing.

Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
