China overwhelms Perlas in FIBA-Asia quarterfinals
The mighty Chinese practically ended the game in the first half, overwhelming the Filipinas with their superior offense.

Asian no. 1 China flexed its muscles Thursday, handing Perlas Pilipinas a fourth straight lopsided defeat in the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIBA-Asia Women's Cup Division A.

The top-ranked Chinese made quick work of the Philippine national women's team, scoring a convincing 117-43 victory at the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium on Bengaluru, India to advance to the semifinals against either defending champion Japan or Taipei.

Despite finishing group play with an 0-3 record, Perlas only needed one win to advance to the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup but China made it known pretty quickly that the Philippines will not have a breakthrough win in the tournament.

The mighty Chinese practically ended the game in the first half, overwhelming the Filipinas with their superior offense.

Li Yueru paced China, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Huang Sijing was also impressive, going for 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in barely 14 minutes of play.

Four other Chinese scored 12 points each.

Perlas was led by Afril Bernardino, who put up 11 points in the defeat.
