"I'm suppose to be going to the Philippines soon so hopefully we'll get there in the month of August before the season starts." -- Jordan Clarkson on his upcoming Philippines visit.
Even if there's a lot of excitement going around the Los Angeles Lakers, Filipino-American shooting guard Jordan Clarkson still has the Philippines in his mind.
Clarkson, who will be entering his fourth year in as many seasons as a Laker, plans to visit the Philippines this August.
"I'm supposed to be going to the Philippines soon so hopefully we'll get there in the month of August before the season starts," he bared during one of his youth basketball camps in California.
The visit will also allow Clarkson to show his support -- and possibly more, for Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in nearby Malaysia.
Clarkson teases the Filipino hopefuls, revealing that finally seeing him in blue and white isn't all that farfetched, "I ain't ruled out so we'll see what happens in the next couple weeks."
Still, whether he's actually cleared to play for the national team or not, Clarkson will undoubtedly show his support for his home team in the upcoming basketball tournament, one way or another.
"Maybe to watch or play we'll see," he said.
