Jeff Chan is set to join Phoenix after ROS dealt him for Mark Borboran and a first round pick.
Rain or Shine's overhaul continues.
Jeff Chan is the latest to leave the Elasto Painters after the two-time PBA champions dealt the veteran shooter to Phoenix on Monday for Mark Borboran and a 2017 first round pick.
In a report by Randolph Leongson of Inquirer.net, the PBA Commissioner's office is set to approve the trade in the same day.
After trading Paul Lee to Star and losing head coach Yeng Guiao to NLEX, Chan leaves the Elasto Painters after eight years with the team.
The former FEU Tamaraw won the 2012 Governors' Cup and the 2016 Commissioner's Cup with Rain or Shine. He was the Finals MVP of the 2012 title team.
Chan was also a mainstay for Gilas Pilipinas during his time with ROS, making the 2014 World Cup after winning silver in the 2013 FIBA-Asia Championships.
In the ongoing 2017 Governors' Cup, Chan has been averaging 9.0 points per game on 27 percent shooting from deep. He will join the Phoenix squad that already includes shooters Matthew Wright and RJ Jazul among others.
Meanwhile Borboran will join fellow UE Red Warrior James Yap with Rain or Shine as the Elasto Painters continue to shuffle through their lineup since letting go of Lee prior to the start of this season.
Borboran is only averaging 2.8 points per game in the season-ending conference and his last game for Phoenix netted him 12 points, all in the fourth quarter, in a loss to Blackwater.
