Scorpions silence Thunder to force semis decider
Rodrigue Ebondo was a beast for the Scorptions, tallying 18 points, 26 rebounds, and three assists in almost 37 minutes of play.

Flying V sure picked the worst time to lose its first game in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.

Centro Escolar University has leveled its semifinal series against the Thunder, scoring a convincing 93-72 decision Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

With the series now tied at one game each, the Scorpions and Flying V will meet again in a sudden death Game 3 with a Finals showdown against Cignal serving as the prize.

The Scorpions wasted little time in establishing control against the previously-undefeated Thunder, opening up a 17-point lead right in the opening quarter.

And althought Flying V would threathen to rally in the second half, CEU managed to tie the series with little to no trouble.

Rodrigue Ebondo was a beast for the Scorptions, tallying 18 points, 26 rebounds, and three assists in almost 37 minutes of play.

Art Aquino likewise provided the scoring punch for CEU, scoring 18 points on top of seven boards. Christian Uri added 15.

Five players scored in double figures for Flying V but the team collectively shot only 30 percent from the field on its way to its first loss all tournament long.

Jeron Teng led the way for the Thunder with 13 points.
