Sumang says he ate classic Pinoy combo before career game
Maybe Roi Sumang should always eat pandesal and cheeze whiz before games.

Maybe Roi Sumang should always eat pandesal and cheeze whiz before games.

The former University of the East star said with a laugh that that classic Pinoy combo was the thing that he munched on before Blackwater played NLEX Friday in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup.

Well, the result was a new career-high 32 points, 17 in the second quarter, for Sumang and a win for the Elite.

Roi, make sure to eat pandesal and cheeze wiz every game.

The former Red Warrior could play, there's no about that, but Sumang has been struggling to find his place in the PBA.

Despite inconsistent efforts in the past, this latest explosion feels like the true start of something new for the diminutive scorer.

"Para sa akin, madami pa akong kulang. Siguro sustain ko lang yung ganyang game parang almost wala akong error kaya yun siguro," he said.

Import Henry Walker appears to have unlocked the entire Blackwater team, and Sumang is just feeding off from the confidence and presence of their reinforcement.

"Grabe din si Henry mag-motivate sa amin, siguro siya din yung factor kung bakit ganun laro namin," he said.

With every given opportunity, Sumang just wants to showcase his talents. His latest scoring record may have just earned him extra minutes and shots.

"Syempre maganda yung kumpiyansa na dumating sa amin ngayon. Sobrang focused na manalo every game," he said.
