This is it, Gilas Pilipinas will have one final shot at victory in the 2017 FIBA-Asia Cup.

Following back-to-back lopsided defeats at the hands of South Korea and host Lebanon that basically negated its perfect Group B performance, the Philippines will only have the 7th place consolation to play for in Beirut as the tournament heads to a close Sunday.

Standing in the way of the national team is Jordan who lost to China in the other classification round game Saturday.

After sweeping Group B, Gilas fell to the Korean Ghost once again in the knockout quarterfinal, losing a 32-point decision to bow out of the medal race.

And then, the Philippines got beat by the Lebanese by 19 points, spoiling what would have been a grudge match between Gilas and China albeit with lesser stakes on the line.

Instead. the Philippines, with an overall record of 3-2, will try to leave the tournament with a victory as the national team takes on Jordan at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Regardless of the result, Gilas Pilipinas will have its worst finish in FIBA Asia as a program. The team placed fourth in 2011.

Team Pilipinas, then backed by Powerade, landed 8th in the 2009 FIBA-Asia Championships.
