Hawkeyes draw first blood in PBA D-League Finals
Powered by a balanced offense the Hawkeyes would cruise to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 championships series.

Whatever high CEU got after stopping Flying V is gone after the Scorpions were brought back down to Earth by Cignal HD.

The Hawkeyes drew first blood in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Finals, scoring a relatively easy 78-56 win Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Cignal wasted little time in establishing it's dominance, opening a double-digit lead right in the fourth quarter.

Powered by a balanced offense the Hawkeyes would cruise to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 championships series.

JB Villarias led Cignal with 17 points while Jason Perkins had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Mark Bringas likewise finished with a double-double, going for 13 points and 10 boards.

Rodridgue Ebondo was CEU's only shining star vs. Cignal as the towering reinforcement scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.

Game 2 is on Thursday.
