The former NCAA MVP out of Letran had to be stretchered out of the Araneta Coliseum after a bad case of dehydration.
Raymond Almazan paid a price for his heroic double duty.
The Rain or Shine center returned to the Elasto Painters Sunday after his stint with Gilas Pilipinas, playing meaningful minutes as his team had to deal with the suspension of Beau Belga.
Almazan was instrumental in ROS' rousing win over star as the lanky center dropped 13 points on top of 14 rebounds coming off the bench.
However, the former NCAA MVP out of Letran had to be stretchered out of the Araneta Coliseum after a bad case of dehydration.
Turns out, he was sick but this pushed through with the game.
"Masama pakiramdam pag dating. D ko alam kung flu or…. Yesterday practice he was okay but when he came in today medyo malata," head coach Caloy Garcia said.
"Today lang when he came to the dugout. Sila ni Gabe yesterday lang nag practice," he added
