Secret to a clutch performance? Don't be afraid

"You welcome those moments and do not be afraid." --- Larry Fonacier.
He's a little older and he's already with a new team but Larry Fonacier will still drive a dagger straight to an opponent's heart if he had the chance.
In fact, he relishes those moments when they come.
And he always seems to do it against the very best teams.
Sunday against the Grand Slam-seeking San Miguel Beermen, the veteran sniper was at his best in the clutch.
Fonacier buried two triples in the final two minutes of game, helping NLEX escape the PBA's resident powerhouse and improve the Road Warriors' playoff chances in the 2017 Governors' Cup.
"Pag matagal ka na dito sa liga, you welcome those moments and do not be afraid," Fonacier says on his gutsy shooting performance with the game on the line.
Reunited with head coach Yeng Guiao in NLEX, Larry looks like he found a new source of confidence in his game.
"Siya naman talaga nag-umpisa nun, give credit to him," he said talking about Guiao.
"Tinulungan niya ako na mabuo yung loob ko dito sa liga. I thank him for the tough love while we we're still at Red Bull," Fonacier added.
Taking down the Beermen was a step in the right direction for Fonacier and the Road Warriors.
After finishing last in the first two conferences this season, NLEX made several moves that landed them veterans like Larry. Now it looks like it's paying off with the team already having six wins in the season-ending joust.
"It means we're on the right track of being able to compete at a high level this conference," Fonacier said.
"We don't want to relax. We don't want any meltdown," he added.
