Bolts snatch solo third after frustrating Star

The Bolts managed to hold the fort to register their sixth win in the season-ending conference against two defeats, good for solo third in the standings behind defending champion Ginebra and NLEX.
Meralco didn't have the finish it wanted but it's tremendous start was more than enough to make up for that.
The Bolts turned back reeling Star in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup, scoring a close 96-90 win on Saturday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna.
Despite leading by as many as 20 points, Meralco experience dangerous times as the Hotshots mounted a rally in the second half.

Import Allen Durham was his usual dominant self for Meralco, posting 29 points, 27 rebounds, and seven assists.

Star, now on a three-game slide for a 4-3 mark, got 28 points from Malcolm Hill but nothing much from its local crew.
Jio Jalalon had 15 and Ian Sangalang dropped 11 but the rest of the Hotshots pretty much struggled from the field all game long.
Coming off a loss, Meralco got to a fast start vs, the Hotshots, opening up a 17-point lead in the first period, 32-15.
