"A lot of people were questioning the move, the timing. But again, things had to be done." --- TNT coach Nash Racela on the trade involving Ranidel De Ocampo.
ANTIPOLO --- In a shocking turn of events, TNT has let go of one of its pillars that helped establish its PBA dynasty.
The KaTropa have traded Ranidel De Ocampo to Meralco on Monday, ending a partnership that lasted almost a decade and six PBA championships.

And despite it being emotional, head coach Nash Racela said that the move had to be done sooner or later.
The team just chose to pull the trigger now that they're making a run at the 2017 Governors' Cup playoffs.
"A lot of people were questioning the move, the timing. But again, things had to be done," Racela said Wednesday after TNT beat NLEX at the Ynares Center here for their first win post RDO.
"A lot of people won't really agree with what we did but it is what it is. The earlier we turn the corner, the better chance that we will have especially going to the playoffs," he added.
Picking up a crucial win seems like the best thing to do for the emotional KaTropa right now as it takes their mind off of the trade and it shows that they can manage without their former veteran leader.
Still, the lead-up to the game against the Road Warriors wasn't particularly easy.
"I'm just happy, the last few days were really tough for us and for us to really have a good chance today, importante is we accept right away the change, we embrace it, and move forward," Racela said.
"The credit should go to the players, yesterday practice was still emotional. Ranidel dropped by to say his goodbyes. Players were able to focus right away, even today I think it showed in the game," he added.
