Wonderful addition: Bolts looking at bigger things with RDO trade

Meralco is looking to get over the playoff hump with the addition of Ranidel De Ocampo.
Two wins away from winning the Governors' Cup last year, Meralco's decision to trade for veteran forward Ranidel De Ocampo has a pretty simple and obvious motive.
And that is get over that hump and win the title it barely lost last season.
In theory, everything should work to perfection. The Bolts are pretty awesome in the season-ending tournament as it is but adding RDO should make them near invincible.
Of course, how it works out in real life remains to be seen but Meralco is off to a good start after Meralco pounded Alaska by 28 points Friday. RDO nailed 10 points in his first game with the team.
"Ranidel will be a big addition to our team and he'll bring a lot of talent and experience that will help us down the stretch," head coach Norman Black said.
"The players came out and played really well with his addition so they obviously took it very positively," he added.
For his part, RDO is not rushing himself in adjusting to Meralco's system.
And the Bolts seem like they don't necessarily need De Ocampo to work a heavy load as of right now especially with the team sitting pretty at no. 1 in the standings.
"Wala naman masyadong pinapagawa sa akin si coach," De Ocampo said.
"Sinimplehan niya lang saka di niya ako ginamit ng sobrang tagal. Okay yun sa beginner na tulad ko sa team," he added.
