7'1" Isaiah Austin powers Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas in Champions Cup

Austin, the former Baylor star who beat Marfan Syndrome to continue his basketball dream, will banner the Chooks-to-Go in the Asian club meet that will open later this week.

Now it's official: Isaiah Austin will get his first reps for Team Pilipinas as Chooks-to-Go heads to Chenzhou, China for the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

Austin, the former Baylor star who beat Marfan Syndrome to continue his basketball dream, will banner the Chooks-to-Go in the Asian club meet that will open later this week.

The 7'1" center will be joined by Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Almond Vosotros, Carl Bryan Cruz, LA Revilla, Norbert Torres, Raymar Jose, Jett Manuel, Jeric Teng, Alfrancis Tamsi, and Rod Ebondo.

Gab Banal and Andre Paras are the team's reserves as management works on the visas of Austin and Enondo.

Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes will handle the squad.

Chooks-to-Go earned a wildcard entry in the FIBA Asian Champions Cup after Japan had to withdraw at the last minute.

The Philippines is in Group A and will open its schedule vs. Kazakhstan on Sept. 22.
