Fresh from issuing defending champion Ginebra a 29-point beatdown, Racela didn't have time to criticize officiating. Instead, he praised it. However, he said it in the most sarcastic way possible even Dr. Sheldon Cooper can tell.
After arguably his team's best win of the conference so far, TNT head coach Nash Racela was in a great mood Saturday as he entered the press room for his latest post-game talk.
Nash's positive energy was evident the moment he went through the door of the Araneta Coliseum's press section Saturday, a far cry from his sour mood less than a week before in Antipolo where he engaged in another explosive rant despite picking up a win.
A rant that earned him a P17,000 fine from the PBA.
Fresh from issuing defending champion Ginebra a 29-point beatdown, Racela didn't have time to criticize officiating. Instead, he praised it.
However, he said it in the most sarcastic way possible even Dr. Sheldon Cooper can tell.
"Live na?" Racela said, after he was once again reminded that he's indeed live on national television and online.
"That was a perfectly-officiated ball game. I cannot say anything negative about it," he added.
Turning serious and focusing his attention on the performance his KaTropa just put, Nash said that his team just simply took advantage of a great shooting night.
A great shooting night that allowed them to dominate the reigning conference champions and earn themselves a playoff bonus in the quarterfinals next week.
"When you shoot that way, you really have a good chance of winning games. It doesn't happen a lot of times but today it did so we took advantage of it," he said.
"Because you know how Ginebra defends, they'll defend that paint. The only way we will have a chance against them is to really make those jumpers and tonight we did," Racela added.
With the next round now as a top priority, Nash gave one final, sarcastic shot before he made his exit.
"Off na? Naka-off na? Joke lang! Lahat naman ng ano ko joke lang, kayo naman oh," he said.
And then Nash left to prepare for TNT's latest playoff run.
