Cool Maliksi earns import's praise after game winner

"He's just cool and confident. He's never out of character and he's always under control. He's just a scorer," --- Henry Walker on Allein Maliksi.
It's not hard to figure out what role Allein Maliksi plays for his team.
The dude is a scorer in every sense of the word. Actually he's an unapologetic scorer.
Maliksi is the type of player that makes you go "No, no, no, no... yes!" every time he takes a shot.
And on Tuesday during the Meralco-Blackwater matchup to start the 2017 Governors' Cup quarterfinals, the Elite were all "Yes!" after Maliksi bailed the team out with two clutch jumpers in the final 33 seconds.
Import Henry Walker, who was on fire in the fourth quarter against the Bolts but opted to defer to Maliksi in the dying moments, was all praise on his new teammate.
It was only Allein's third game in a Blackater uniform.
"He keeps the defense honest [Maliksi]. That fourth quarter I was able to get a lot of one-on-one and I feel like I could score on anybody," Walker said on Maliksi who the Elite acquired from Star two weeks ago.
"At the end, it was just fitting that the new guy that came in and giving us that new weapon, he put it in at the end and it was a great shot," he added.
What struck Walker most about Maliksi is the fact that the combo guard maintains incredible poise under heavy pressure.
After all, if Maliksi missed just one of his final two shots in the last 30 seconds, the Elite are most likely headed to an early vacation.
But Maliksi didn't and now we have sudden death.
"I felt more happy about that than any of my points. Of course it was the game winner but just how calm he was, he was ready," Walker said.
"He's just cool and confident. He's never out of character and he's always under control. He's just a scorer," he added.
