The highly-anticipated showdown between Andray Blatche and Isaiah Austin will have to wait as the clash of the two titans didn't materialize in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup.
That's because Blatche was DNP in China Kashgar's quarterfinal win over Chooks-to-Go Thursday.
There's a perfectly good reason why Andray, who is the current naturalized center for Gilas Pilipinas, didn't see any action against Chooks-to-Go in the knockout matchup.
"I can't play against my Filipino people," Blatche said according to Carlo Pamintuan of Sports 5.
Despite playing pro ball in China, Andray is still pretty much #Puso all the way.
After finally arriving to play for Kashgar in the Champions Cup, Blatche joined Chooks-to-Go in the pre-game anthem ceremonies as Team Pilipinas faced Iran's Petrochimi in the preliminary round. He did that again before his current club team faced the Philippines and was even offering some tips and advice to his fellow Pinoy players despite wearing a Chinese jersey.
Now the only thing left to see is Blatche in a Gilas uniform again. The Philippines will start the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in a couple of months, taking on Japan on Nov. 24 and Taipei on Nov. 27.
