How Henry Walker became "Mr. Inspiration"

"I guess the Mr. Inspiration came because the first thing I said when I got here was 'I'm ain't no 0-3 guy, and I don't carry myself like that, I don't like that losing mentality,' and it changed, so just kudos to the guys, I wouldn't have been able to play the way I played if it wasn't for the guys." --- Henry Walker.
Allein Maliksi came in and gave a big boost late, but the true driving force behind Blackwater's inspiring run to the Governors' Cup playoffs is none other than import Henry Walker.
Well, he is Mr. Inspiration after all.
With the Elite at 0-3 and losing hope fast, the team brought in Walker and Blackwater just flipped the switch.
The Elite went 5-3 in their last eight games to crash the playoffs as the number 8 seed and then pushed no. 1 Meralco to the limit in the quarterfinals.
Blackwater won the first game against the Bolts and was in control for three and a half quarters in the knockout game.
All of that success stems from Walker aka Mr. Inspiration.
"I'm a firm believer in God and I pray everyday, I pray everytime I get on that court, just for the blessing for having to play this game. And, if I'm the inspiration of the guys, that's great," Walker said, trying to explain how the new monicket came about.
"But I just pride myself on coming to work everyday. Every practice, I want to get better, I want to be the best version of myself everytime I step out there, and I think the guys kind of saw that and they start coming along with me, start working out everyday, it just changed the culture," he added.
"We started work, work, work and trickled into success on the court."
Making his third tour of duty in the PBA, Walker said the Elite were a little different compared to the Alaska Aces and the NLEX Road Warriors.
When he arrived, Blackwater was already down for the count. But Walker, obviously, is not the type to just lay down without trying to fight his way back up.
His incredible fighting spirit simply rubbed off om the rest of his teammates.
"Like I said, Blackwater is just family, it feels just like family, all the guys, it's just a different type of expectation because I came in we were 0-3 and we were just grasping for anything," Walker said.
"I guess the Mr. Inspiration came because the first thing I said when I got here was 'I'm ain't no 0-3 guy, and I don't carry myself like that, I don't like that losing mentality,' and it changed, so just kudos to the guys, I wouldn't have been able to play the way I played if it wasn't for the guys, I mean they stepped up their games this conference," he added.
