The comeback is complete for Greg Slaughter.

Well, at least the first part of his comeback.

The 7'0" center won Best Player of the Conference for the 2017 Governors' Cup on Sunday prior to Game 2 of the Finals, his first ever BPC award in his four-year pro career.

Slaughter bested Meralco's Chris Newsome to win the award, garnering a total of 975 points based from votes from the media, players, the PBA, and conference statistics.

Newsome finished with 707 points.

June Mar Fajardo (617 points), Jayson Castro (440 points), and Arwind Santos (371 points) complete the top 5.

After missing 10 months of action due to an ACL injury, Slaughter finally returned to the Gin Kings this conference, averaging 14.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 blocks through the semifinal round.
