Tenorio on clutch triple in Game 2: Nakuha sa dasal
With the Gin Kings holding on to a precarious three-point lead late in Game 2 of the 2017 Governors' Cup Finals against Meralco, LA Tenorio fired a triple just as the shot clock was winding down for Ginebra. It went in of course.

Calvin Abueva said this once about Brgy. Ginebra:

"Siyempre alam naman natin na malakas ‘yung kalaban, malakas pati sa taas."

This statement might actually be true. Like, genuinely true.

With the Gin Kings holding on to a precarious three-point lead late in Game 2 of the 2017 Governors' Cup Finals against Meralco, LA Tenorio fired a triple just as the shot clock was winding down for Ginebra.

It went in and the defending champs moved on to a 2-0 lead against the Bolts in the best-of-7 series.

"It was a Hail Mary shot. Timing. Kasi the whole game medyo off timing ako dun sa offense eh. Siguro timing lang talaga. For me that was a Hail Mary shot," Tenorio said of his booming triple with a minute to go that doubled up Ginebra's lead, 82-76.

"Para sa akin yun yung nakuha sa dasal," he added.

Despite a commanding lead over the Bolts, Tenorio is not one to be confident.

He knows that the Gin Kings still have a long way to go to defend their Governors' Cup championship.

"2-0, to be honest, that's nothing," he said.

"Alam naman natin sa ligang ito maraming miracle nangyayari. We really have to come out stronger. The series is not yet over. Far from over," Tenorio added.

Right now, the focus is not with the title but getting win number 3 first.

And if Game 2 is proof, that victory is going to be even harder to attain.

"Before we get the championship we have to get the number three win first. We’re not gonna look for the number four win. We just have to come out really, really, really aggressive and strong on the third game. Yun yung focus muna namin," Tenorio said.
