Consensus no. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger missed the opening day of the 2017 PBA Draft Combine.
One particular player was missing from the 2017 PBA Draft Combine Monday at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
Consensus no. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger was nowhere to be found in day 1 of the two-day event where coaches from all 12 PBA teams get the chance to scout potential players for the upcoming season.
Standhardinger, the Fil-German forwaed who introduced himself to Filipino fans during his mighty Gilas stint a couple of months ago, is in Hong Kong preparing with his Asean Basketball League team.
The other 43 applicants in the draft, scheduled for Oct. 29, were present to undergo measurements, drills, and compete in a mini tournament.
After Standhardinger, big names in this year's pool of rookies include former Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena, La Salle's Jeron Teng and Jason Perkins, and FEU's Raymar Jose.
Kia owns the no. 1 pick in the 2017 PBA Draft although reports have surfaced that the Picanto will send the selection to the San Miguel Beermen. NLEX picks second and Blackwater will choose third.
