Standhardinger explains his absence from Draft Combine
The 28-year-old forward is under contract for the Hong Kong Eastern Lions in the Asean Basketball League and unless the team that drafts him performs a buyout, he is expected to miss the early part of the upcoming PBA season.

Consensus no. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger is going to miss the 2017 PBA Draft Combine in its entirety but it appears that the Fil-German forward is going to be safe from any sanctions from the league.

You know, like an unfortunate disqualification.

Standhardinger, posting on his actual Twitter account, says that his team informed the PBA in advance that he will miss the combine.

The 28-year-old forward is under contract for the Hong Kong Eastern Lions in the Asean Basketball League and unless the team that drafts him performs a buyout, he is expected to miss the early part of the upcoming PBA season.

While he's not going to be around the combine, Standhardinger is expected to show up on draft night set for Sunday, Oct. 29 at Robinsons Place Manila.

Kia owns to no. 1 pick this year althought several reports have surfaced that the Picanto are dealing the selection to the San Miguel Beermen.

NLEX will pick second and Blackwater has the no. 3 overall selection.
