BOCAUE, BULACAN --- The PBA set a new attendance record Wednesday at the Philippine Arena here, however, it might be broken after two days.

For Game 6 of the 2017 Governors' Cup Finals between defending champion Ginebra and Meralco, an incredible 53,642 fans filled the massive INC-owned facility, breaking the record set three years ago at the same arena.

With the PBA opening its milestone 40th season in 2014, 52,612 fans trooped to the Philippine Arena to watch a double-header featuring Kia vs. Blackwater and Ginebra vs. TNT.

Just last Sunday, 36,445 fans watched Game 5 of the Ginebra-Meralco series, setting the record for most fans in attendance for a Finals Game.

Well, Game 6 broke that record easily.

With Game 7 on the horizon, it's reasonable to expect that this new record will get broken as well. After all, the Philippine Arena is said to have the capacity to seat 55,000 people.
