You all here that? That's the sound of all San Miguel fans singing songs of praises as the Beermen look ready to have another crack at the PBA Grand Slam with Christian Standhardinger on deck.
2017 no. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger will not be available for six months as he plays his live contract with the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions in the Asean Basketball League.
But once he truly arrives in the PBA, oh boy, expect a lot of "Puso" from the 6'8" Fil-German forward.
You all here that? That's the sound of all San Miguel fans singing songs of praises as the Beermen look ready to have another crack at the PBA Grand Slam.
"A lot of puso, a lot of fight, and the rest is kinda on the side," Standhardinger said on what can the Beermen expect from him.
"I'm gonna fight my heart out every time," he added.
The obvious storyline with San Miguel snatching the number one pick, that caused a lot of uproar with the fans, is the June Mar Fajardo arc.
Instead of the two behemoths taking on each other, San Miguel will pair the two together, creating arguably the best frontline in the PBA that rivals even that of Brgy. Ginebra.
Standhardinger is looking forward to joining forces with the Kraken, the reigning four-time PBA Most Valuable Player.
"I'm very excited. June Mar is a great, great talent. He can do so many things. I'm very excited, all the matchups against us, I really wanna see that," he said.
"I'm very excited on playing high-low with June Mar and it's an honor and it's a great thing that I can play with a 4-time returning MVP," Standhardinger added.
Ultimately, Standhardinger is just pumped to finally be in the PBA and be given the opportunity to help an already-imposing team be even stronger.
" I'm just gonna have to fight and I hope I can make this very strong team a little bit better and that's my goal," he said.
