Will Andray Blatche reinforce Gilas vs. Japan and Taipei?
Andray Blatche last played for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2017 SEABA Championships back in May 2017.
Smart-Gilas Pilipinas was pretty serious about the whole talking to the media thing to start its training camp ahead of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers Friday.
Save for the greetings to the media that still actually went to the Meralco Gym, the coaching staff and the players revealed nothing regarding their first closed-door practice.
However, after training, head coach Chot Reyes once again took to his Twitter account to confirm the attendance for Day 1 of camp.
He also revealed something a little interesting in the fact that a certain "AB" will be coming on November 12.
Jayson,Pogs,Matt,Allein,Gabe, Calvin,CBC,Mac,Troy, Mond, Jap, JMF practiced today. Jio came but is out (LCL).TR & KR still OOT. AB on d 12th— Chot Reyes (@coachot) November 3, 2017
The "AB" in question is most likely Andray Blatche as it appears that the naturalized center is back to reinforce the national team against Japan in Tokyo on November 24 and against Taipei in Manila on November 27.
Blatche last played for Gilas in the 2017 SEABA Championships last May. He missed the Jones Cup, the FIBA-Asia Cup, and the SEA Games last September-August.
During that period, Fil-German Christian Standhardinger played for Gilas as its naturalized center.
