Gilas dominates ROS in tune-up marred by brawl
Despite a lopsided win against the Elasto Painters, it didn't come easy for Gilas as a brawl involving Carl Bryan Cruz and Don Trollano marred the first half of the contest.

Looks like the isolated camp at Tagaytay did Gilas Pilipinas some good.

The national team scored a convincing 96-75 victory Thursday against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in a tune-up at Gatorade Hoops in Mandaluyong as part of their preparations for the first windown of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

After a flat performance against Alab Pilipinas barely a week ago resulting in a loss, it seems like Gilas is starting to pick up steam during yet another rushed camp ahead of a major international game.

The Philippines opened camp last November 3, exactly three weeks before taking on Japan on the road on November 24. Three days later on November 27, Gilas will host Taipei at the Araneta Coliseum.

Despite a lopsided win against the Elasto Painters, it didn't come easy for Gilas as a brawl involving Carl Bryan Cruz and Don Trollano marred the first half of the contest.

Still, the game continued and Chot Reyes' crew cruised to a win.
