Kobe says Kai should consider going to school in the US
From one next-gen talent to another.

From one next-gen talent to another.

Kobe Paras, the 20-year-old Filipino basketball prodigy who is trying his luck in the United States, has some advice to young Kai Sotto.

Kai is the 15-year-old Filipino basketball prodigy starring for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets in the UAAP. He is also 7'1".

Posting on his Twitter account, Paras says that Kai hopefully makes the "mature" choice soon and take his talents to the US.

The son of PBA legend Benjie added that he was around the same age as Kai when he chose to leave his family in the Philippines to try and carve out a career on the other side of the world.

Paras had a pretty good high school career in Los Angeles, making him a three-star recruit that initially landed him at UCLA in the same class as Lonzo Ball.

He transferred to Creighton but didn't see much playing time in his freshman season. His NCAA Division 1 journey now continues at Cal State Northridge.

Sotto, who just towers over everybody in the Philippines, is just starting his second high school season in the UAAP.

In his first game last week, a dominant Ateneo win, he played 23 minutes off the bench and recorded 24 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocks.

He's definitely going to be a hot commodity once he's ready to play college ball although if Kobe is to ask, Kai should definitely consider honing his talents in the US.
