It's crunch time for the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).

FIBA, basketball's world governing body, is set to announce the final hosts of the 2023 World Cup today from Geneva in Switzerland.

The Philippines is a finalist anew but unlike the lost bid to China for the 2019 tournament, the country is in a joint proposal with Japan and Indonesia.

The Philippines-Japan-Indonesia bid is up against a joint proposal from Argentina and Uruguay.

FIBA's final decision is set to be unveiled at around 8:00 p.m. PHL time.

In Geneva to present for the Philippines is SBP Chairman Emeritus Manny Pangilian. Joining MVP are SBP President Al Panlilio and Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes.

The bid's official hashtag, #PlayLouderIn2023 has been making rounds on social media all week.
