Christian Standhardinger, Tyler Lamb, and Marcus Elliott didn't have to do much as defending champion Hong Kong made quick work of rookie team Formosa
For the second straight day, Formosa was woken up from its dream by the Philippines.
Filipino-German Christian Standhardinger teamed up with Thai-American Tyler Lamb to power undefeated Hong Kong right through the Dreamers, 120-97, right in their home court at the Changhua Stadium in Taiwan on Sunday.
Standhardinger had 21 points in 75 percent shooting and six rebounds while Lamb had 22 markers, seven boards, six assists, and three steals and the defending champions defended all throughout and all the way to a sixth win in a row to start the season.
It was in the middle periods that they did the most damage, pounding on the home team by a score of 73-45.
The Hong Kong lead went up to as high as 38 as they took full advantage of a Formosa side which was coming off a sorry loss to Alab Pilipinas yesterday.
They were so dominant that all of Standhardinger, Lamb, and Marcus Elliott played under 25 minutes.
Elliott still wound up with 19 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds while Ryan Moss and Lee Ki chipped in 14 and 11 markers, respectively.
That light workload is much welcome for Eastern which will now prepare as it visits Singapore on December 20 for another possible playoff preview.
