Alaska’s Jeron Teng: ‘I was hoping na win first game ko’
Jeron Teng didn’t get his wish for a win in his debut

Jeron Teng showcased the skills that made him the fifth overall pick on Wednesday.

Getting to his favorite spots and willing in shots, the pride of De La Salle University wound up with 16 points and two rebounds.

Unfortunately, he and Alaska were at the wrong end of a hot-shooting day by Magnolia who came away with a 108-95 win.

While he was able to play his game, Teng, of course, still would have wanted a different outcome. “Siyempre, medyo disappointing. I was hoping na win yung first game ko, pero first game, talo,” he said.

Still, the 22-year-old said taking the floor in Asia’s first pay-for-play league was a dream come true. “Super excited ko pa rin kasi dream come true for me ito. Ever since, dream ko talaga sumali sa PBA like my father,” he shared

He then continued, “I used that as motivation kaya I think I was ready kanina.”

Now that dream has been fulfilled, Teng is turning his attention to turning into reality his dream for a first win. “This is a learning process for me because I’m still trying to learn the system of Alaska. They’ve been playing together for how many years and bago pa lang ako,” he said.

He then continued, “Pero I’m still being positive and we’re keeping our heads up. This is just the first game of the tournament.”
