"Nabunutan ako ng tinik. Kasi talagang nag-focus ako sa larong ito, knowing that this can make of break what everybody is thinking about me, of me in the PBA," --- Kiefer Ravena.
Unlike a certain Ball boy and fellow no. 2 overall pick, Kiefer Ravena absolutely lived up to hype in his debut game in the pros.
Kiefer Ravena was sensational in his first PBA game Wednesday, going for 18 points on 63 percent shooting from the field to go along with 12 assists and seven rebounds.
To put a cherry on top of a successful day, Ravena's Road Warriors won as well.
Now that everyone has seen a glimpse of him in the big league, pressure naturally grows on the part of Kiefer.
However, the Phenom says that his priority is to play his game for his team and not the please other's lofty expectations.
"Yun na nga siguro ang mahirap dun, first game pa lang, dadagdag na lang ng dadagdag [hype]. Pero ako, I just tried to play my game, stick to the system," Ravena said.
"We have one win on the board, and kailangan lang talaga namin mag-focus, and always remember na every game is a different game," he added.
While the pressure is always going to be there, it's still a little reassuring for Ravena to have a good game on his first try in the PBA.
"Syempre dagdag confidence talaga siya sakin kasi I got that first game out," he said.
"Nabunutan ako ng tinik. Kasi talagang nag-focus ako sa larong ito, knowing that this can make of break what everybody is thinking about me, of me in the PBA," Kiefer added.
