If the KaTropa's win against Alaska in the 2018 Philippine Cup is any indication, it appears that Mo is finally starting to live up to expectations.
Since being drafted first overall by TNT in the 2015 Draft, Mo Tautuaa has been a little disappointing to say the least.
He's not bad, it's just that his production does not merit a number 1 overall ranking.
Well, if the KaTropa's win against Alaska in the 2018 Philippine Cup is any indication, it appears that Mo is finally starting to live up to expectations.
Tautuaa was rather effective against the Aces, scoring 18 points in almost 24 minutes of play to go along with nine rebounds.
His 66 percent shooting clip from the field, he only missed four of 12 attempts, particularly got the attention of head coach Nash Racela.
"Efficient si Mo and that's what we need from our players. We condition their minds that they're gonna get shorter minutes but with the minutes we entrust we make sure they'll perform at the highest level," he said.
"Mo was the perfect example. Less minutes than Kelly [Williams] but very efficient. That's the goal for everyone," Nash added.
For Mo, he says it's about time to contribute in that high level.
"Yeah, about time, right? Finally. It's been a long road," Tautuaa said.
"I mean, I just gotta find my niche. I gotta find my groove," he added.
Seeing results, Mo is just about improving from here on out. He adds that he doesn't want to be frustrated on the court anymore because his play is far from what he envisioned.
"Of course, it's frustrating when you're not getting results that you want," he said.
"But I mean I'm happy cause I could see work, like progression. I don't wanna be stuck still. I don't wanna be stuck in a mud. As long as we continue to move forward, that's what's most important," Tautuaa added.
