Rosario, TNT spoil Teng's career night with Alaska
With Troy Rosario leading the charge, the KaTropa gained control late in the first half and TNT just managed to keep the Aces at bay in the second to push their record to an even 1-1.

Jeron Teng went full Beast Friday but all that went to waste as Alaska absorbed its second loss in as many games in the 2018 Philippine Cup.

TNT is on the board for the new season as the KaTropa scored a 106-98 victory over the Aces at the Cuneta Astrodome.

With Troy Rosario leading the charge, the KaTropa gained control late in the first half and TNT just managed to keep the Aces at bay in the second to push their record to an even 1-1.

Rosario scored 21 points, 17 in the first half, and grabbed eight rebounds as TNT bounced back from a season-opening loss to Rain or Shine last week.

Jayson Castro and Mo Tautuaa also had great games for the KaTropa as both players scored 18 apiece. The Blur added another six rebounds and five assists while Mo finished with nine rebounds.

RR Garcia returned from injury reserve and put up 11 points for TNT.

"It's always hard to get the first win especially with our next game being against San Miguel. At least we got some sort of momentum before we face the best team in the league," head coach Nash Racela said as his team looks forward to a semis rematch against the three-time defending champions when action resumes early next year.

Following a high-scoring first quarter, TNT buckled down on defense and limited the Aces to 19 points in the second while scoring 29 to really take control of the contest.

Alaska, who still can't seem to find ways to win in the new season, got a monster effort from Jeron Teng, its no. 5 overall pick from the previous Draft.

Teng powered his way for 28 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, and four steals but he couldn't lead the Aces back from a 14-point deficit.

Jvee Casio added 17 for Alaska while Calvin Abueva went for 16 points and nine boards.
