Louie Alas on son Kevin: Parking [pa lang] ita-trap ko na
The interesting father-son encounter is set for January 7 when coach Louie's Phoenix Fuel Masters clash against Kevin's NLEX Road Warriors.

For the first time in the PBA, Louie Alas the head coach will be taking on Kevin Alas the PBA player once the league resumes play in 2018.

The interesting father-son encounter is set for January 7 when coach Louie's Phoenix Fuel Masters clash against Kevin's NLEX Road Warriors.

It appears that coach Louie has been looking forward to this. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

"Ang iniisip na agad is against NLEX," the elder Alas said after Phoenix beat Kia last Dec. 27 for his first win with his new team.

"NLEX, malakas na team. Alam natin deep line up nila. Talagang kung anong sistema namin offensively, almost the same NLEX na run-and-gun. We just have to play non stop defense against NLEX," he added.

The elder Alas also has a special game plan set for his son.

"Ngayon hanggang parking pa lang ita-trap ko na," he said on how to stop Kevin and the vaunted NLEX backcourt.

Seriously, trapping will be key for coach Louie's Fuel Masters if they are to take a win against the currently spotless Road Warriors.

Aside from Kevin, the NLEX backcourt also has super rookie Kiefer Ravena and veteran Larry Fonacier.

"Hirap talaga. Pinaparating ko na talaga para pag-isipan nila yung trap, half-court at full court," coach Louie said.
