BACK TO WORK: Gilas opens first practice for 2018
Practice resumed for the national team Monday at the Meralco Gym with games against Australia and Japan coming up by the end of February.

With just little over a month before the next FIBA window for the World Cup Asian Qualifiers, it's back to work for Gilas Pilipinas.

Practice resumed for the national team Monday at the Meralco Gym with games against Australia and Japan coming up by the end of February.

The team that played in the first window against in November last year showed up for Gilas' first practice of 2018 led by Jayson Castro.

Matthew Wright, Raymond Almazan, Kiefer Ravena, Troy Rosario, Allein Maliksi, Carl Cruz, RR Pogoy, Mac Belo, Kevin Alas, Jio Jalalon, Japeth Aguilar, and team captain Gabe Norwood complete the crew.

Also present for practice are some of the players included in the 2023 World Cup pool for Gilas.

Leading the list of the young bloods on deck were Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go, Kenmark Carino, Paul Desiderio, J-jay Alejandro, Javee Mocon, Robert Bolick, Juan Gomez De Liano, Will Gozum, Joshua Sinclair, CJ Perez, Arvin Tolentino, and Jeo Ambohot.

Gilas Pilipinas will travel to Australia to take on the Boomers on Feb. 22 before hosting Japan here on Feb. 25.
