The no. 4 Arizona State Sun Devils pulled out a close 80-77 victory against the Utah Utes to arrest a two-game losing skid in the PAC-12 conference of the NCAA at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, U.S Sunday afternoon (Monday, PHL Time).
Shannon Evans III and Kodi Justice had 22 and 20 points respectively to lead the way for the Sun Devils’ first win in Utah since 2012.
Justin Bibbins put the Utes on his back, pouring in 22 points while orchestrating the offense with seven dimes as they took Arizona State to the limit.
Filipino-American sophomore Sedrick Barefield added 21 points for Utah in the loss, while freshman Remy Martin, another Fil-Am, had 11 points and four assists for Arizona State.
Trailing by eleven points, 19-8 early in the game, Utah rallied to take the 36-35 lead over Arizona State to end the first half.
The teams traded leads late in the game but Arizona State held steady behind clutch free throws by Evans and Mickey Mitchell as Sun Devils improve to 13-2, while Utah drops to a 10-5 slate.
ABS-CBN News' Steve Angeles was on the scene to cover the game.

Sedrick Barefield I loving the 3 ball tonite. He’s got 14. With less than 12 minutes left. 🇵🇭🏀 Remy Martin has 7 pic.twitter.com/3e5zncNI9k— Steve Angeles (@StevieAngeles) January 8, 2018
Both FilAm are over double digits. Remy has 11 while Sedrick has 16. About 7 minutes left in a very good close game. 🇵🇭🏀 pic.twitter.com/YTQxSvaoO7— Steve Angeles (@StevieAngeles) January 8, 2018
