Anthony finished with only three points for the Batang Pier, making only one out of his 11 shots from the field. However, he grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 12 assists.
After he poured 29 points against Ginebra in their last outing, Sean Anthony insisted that he wasn't looking to score at all.
Instead, he says he's just trying to make the right basketball plays for his team.
Well, against Rain or Shine Friday, Anthony didn't do a lot of scoring. Not even close.
However, he did make the right basketball plays for his team yet again.
Anthony finished with only three points for the Batang Pier, making only one out of his 11 shots from the field.
"I couldn't hit a shot. But it's okay, just trying to take what the defense gives me," he said.
To compensate for his lack of scoring production, Anthony went crazy on the boards and on dropping dimes.
The versatile forward grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out 12 assists in Global's first win of the season.
"Rebounding is always gonna be there for me. I’m always gonna—it’s a conscious effort thing. The scoring, I just take what the defense gave me," Anthony said on his effort on the boards.
"I’m just trying to make a read on what ROS is doing defensively. There's a lot of help defense, they’re showing hard on screens and whatnot. I’m just trying to find the open man," he added, this time on his playmaking.
With the Batang Pier finally on the board, Sean hopes his team can put together a run to offset their poor start.
"We gotta start putting them together now. It got close down the stretch, we closed out a close game," he said.
