Elite use Ginebra game to promote advocacy
"Parang nire-represent din namin yung may mga karamdaman. Kahit sa konting paraan, nakakatulong kami. Itong panalo namin, hopefully, nabigyan namin sila ng magandang smile," --- Mac Belo.

If you were wondering why Blackwater sported purple Friday against Brgy. Ginebra, well wonder no more.

The Elite have been supporting those dealing with Lupus for a while now via the Hope for Lupus organization.

And with an event coming up, Blackwater picked the perfect opportunity to promote its advocacy by rocking purple warmup shirts ahead of its mega showdown with the Gin Kings.

The coaching staff ended up wearing the shirts for the duration of the Elite's sensational 94-77 win over the barangay at the MOA Arena.

"Sa Jan. 21 sa Hope for Lupus. Sinusuportahan namin yung mga may karamdaman. May fun run na gaganamit sa Jan. 21. Nandoon kami," forward Mac Belo said.

Not that they needed any more motivation to beat Ginebra, Belo says the shirts and the message it entails gave the team a little more boost.

"Syempre nandoon din sa jersey namin yung Hope for Lupus," he said, talking about the patch on their jerseys bearing the organization's logo.

"Parang nire-represent din namin yung may mga karamdaman. Kahit sa konting paraan, nakakatulong kami. Itong panalo namin, hopefully, nabigyan namin sila ng magandang smile," Belo added.
