While the current Gilas Pilipinas squad is busy training to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, members of the team have not forgotten about another Filipino basketball player's dream.
Jordan Clarkson of the Los Angeles Lakers is the lone Filipino-American in the NBA, and Gilas players Kiefer Ravena, Gabe Norwood and coach Chot Reyes are both cheering for the high-flying sixth man to become the first player with Pinoy blood to participate in the All-Star Game.
In a video Tweeted by Jordan Clarkson's fan account, Ravena and Reyes are seen taking time off during practice to offer a heartfelt message for fans, urging them to #LetJordanPlay.
"I'm inviting everybody to continue voting for our kababayan Jordan Clarkson for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game," Ravena said. "Lahat tayo gustong mapanuod ang pinaka unang pilipino na maglalaro sa All Star Game kaya mga kababayan, let Jordan play."
Alab Pilipinas head coach Jimmy Alapag also joined the rally.
