Easy Ed doing well after injury scare
Daquioag got an and-one play off of rookie Jason Perkins with 7:33 left in the third but the second-year guard out of UST never got to shoot his bonus free throw following a bad landing. . He never returned to the game.

Despite playing one of the better games of his PBA career, Ed Daquioag had to sit out early for Rain or Shine against Phoenix Wednesday in the Philippine Cup.

First of all, the Elasto Painters were totally dominating the game and second of all, it wasn't worth the risk for Daquioag to further aggravate a tailbone injury he sustained early in the third period.

Daquioag, who scored nine points in the first five minutes of the second half and was already up to 21 points, suffered a bad landing following a foul.

Daquioag got an and-one play off of rookie Jason Perkins with 7:33 left in the third but the second-year guard out of UST never got to shoot his bonus free throw. He never returned to the game.

Still, it appears that Ed is fine after the contest.

"Di naman siya malala. Baka nabigla lang, di ko na kasi mailakad ng maayos eh," he said.

"Kung pilitin ko baka may ma-anong ugat, kaya di ko na pinilit," Daquioag added.

Following two bad losses, Daquioag took it upon himself to be extra aggressive to help ROS get out of its slump.

And while he suffered a minor setback, Ed is hopeful his team can start getting the ball rolling again.

"Kasi dalawang sunod kaming talo tapos ang sama ng game namin nung nakaraan. Kailangan namin manalo," Daquioag said.
