Pogoy sparks TNT's charge to silence Elite
Following a flat first half, Pogoy sparked a third-quarter rally for TNT, allowing the flagship MVP franchise to take over after a 29-14 run.

With TNT in trouble against a very dangerous Blackwater team, RR Pogoy took it upon himself to rescue his KaTropa in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.

The reigning Rookie of the Year led TNT's fightback in the second half against the Elite and the KaTropa scored a huge 92-83 victory Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Following a flat first half, Pogoy sparked a third-quarter rally for TNT, allowing the flagship MVP franchise to take over after a 29-14 run.

The KaTropa ended up leading by as many as 17 points in the fourth, which was enough to holf off the Elite and get back to .500 with a 2-2 record.

"Our rotation messed up in the first half, good thing we recovered in the second half. Going into this game, we knew that we gonna have a hard time against Blackwater," head coach Nash Racela said.

"We knew that it's not gonna be easy getting a victory over them. It would take our absolute best and they really able to challenge us, especially in the second half, our shots started to fall," he added.

Down by as many as 10, TNT clicked in the third behind Pogoy, who ended up scoring eight points including a highlight dunk on the break.

The KaTropa took an eight-point lead into the finals 12 minutes where Jayson Castro helped finish the job, dropping a very confident Elite crew.

Pogoy finished with a game-high 24 points to go along with eight rebounds while the Blue added 17 points of his own.

RR Garcia started the game and dropped 12 while Anothy Semerad poured 11 points, also in a starting role.

For the Elite, JP Erram continued his fine play going for 20 points and eight rebounds but it wasn't enough as Blackwater dropped to 2-2 for the season.
