All is good, but Arwind Santos yet to receive personal dinner invite from Balkman: ‘Hindi sa Insta, hindi sa Twitter’

While Arwind Santos holds no grudges against Renaldo Balkman, the San Miguel forward hopes to hear from the reinforcement directly.
San Miguel forward Arwind Santos and Alab Pilipinas reinforcement Renaldo Balkman have been exchanging quotes that made headlines the past couple of weeks after the Puerto Rican-American import was given a second chance to play basketball for and in the Philippines.
Santos and Balkman even went as far as wanting to bury the proverbial hatchet, with the import wanting to meet his former Petron teammate “soon”.
“I’m looking for you, man. If you get this message, I’m down here. Maye one day, we can go out and have lunch, dinner, or whatever you want to do. Let’s just talk,” Balkman told reporters last January 11.
Like Balkman, Santos has already put the past behind him, and yes, that includes the infamous choking incident that happened back in 2013.
“Bati naman kami, okay naman kami dati, wala naman dapat ayusin,” Santos cleared during an interview with ABS-CBN Sports after San Miguel’s practice Thursday afternoon.
But Santos also wants to hear the invitation from Balkman personally, or at least, directly, to finally get things going.
“Ang akin kasi kung gusto niyang yayain ako magdinner, hindi sa Insta[gram], hindi sa Twitter, alam niya number ng asawa ko, lalo na yung agent niya si Sheryl [Reyes],” Santos explained. “Kung gusto talaga niya kong makita, tatawagan niya asawa ko. Ayaw ko lang nung kailangan malaman pa ba ng tao.”
Santos was quick to clear, however, that he has no qualms whatsoever with how the import is handling their soon-to-be get-together.
“Wala naman, wala namang problema dun, private dapat,” Santos said. “Pwede naman akong itext ng patago kung gusto niya talaga.”
Recalling a rather bad experience from another infamous moment in his career, Santos explains how his situation with Balkman was different.
“Like yung nangyari sakin kay Manny Salgado, pag naopen yun, yung sa La Salle, yung [Assistant Team] Manager noong time ng UAAP, sinasabi niya nag apology-apology siya pero wala naman sinasabi. Paano mo papatawarin?” Santos explained. “Pero ang pagkakaiba neto, kami ni Balkman, wala.”
What ever happens, though, Santos is sure that he has already forgiven Balkman.
“Tapos na kami dun. Ako pa, ako yung taong madaling magpatawad. Diyos nga nagpapatawad, tayo pa kayang mga tao,” Santos said.
