Elite brought down to Earth after embarrassing loss
Following a convincing win over Brgy. Ginebra last Jan. 12, the Elite are back to planet Earth after suffering back-to-back defeats, dropping to below .500 in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.

For the time being, Blackwater's status as a legitimate PBA playoff contender lasted a whole week.

Following a convincing win over Brgy. Ginebra last Jan. 12, the Elite are back to planet Earth after suffering back-to-back defeats, dropping to below .500 in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.

On Wednesday, Blackwater blew a 10-point lead to TNT and two days later on Friday, the Elite suffered a 25-point beating at the hands of the Globalport Batang Pier.

"Tough loss," said Mac Belo of the team's latest disappointing decision at the hands of Global.

"Masakit samin tong pagkatalo na to kasi ayun nga, hindi namin ine-expect na ganito yung kalalabasan ng team," he added.

Granted, the Elite played their third game in the last seven days, which is their own doing because they requested the league to move one of their matchups to accomodate their charity event on Sunday.

So for Blackwater, that's not an excuse. It never was.

"Pagpunta naman namin sa game na to, ready naman kaming lahat eh. Naunahan lang kami ng Globalport sa first quarter, nahirapan na kaming bumalik tapos lumobo na yung lamang," Belo said.

With the team looking to bouce back, Belo says the focus has to be fixing their defense.

"Hopefully maka-adjust kami and ma-execute namin ng maayos yung  defense namin," he said.
