Alas says Phoenix needs a winning habit
"Yun yung mahirap sa team na dine-develop mo yung kultura na winning habits. Pero we’re going there," --- Phoenix head coach Louie Alas.

After nearly losing a game to Brgy, Ginebra despite getting a 24-point lead, Phoenix head coach Louie Alas admits that his team didn't exactly play with a killer mindset late in the game.

And if the Fuel Masters are going to contend in the PBA, that has to be addressed very quickly.

"Good thing nakapag-pundar kami ng malaking lamang so yun nga, masyado kaming nag-ingat sa pag-protect ng win," Alas said.

"Yun yung mahirap sa team na dine-develop mo yung kultura na winning habits. Pero we’re going there," he added.

Now with an even 3-3 record, Alas stresses that it's important for the Fuel Masters to stay composed late in games.

They can't rely on 24-point leads as a safety blanket every game, after all.

"Sinasabi ko kanina, talagang nagde-develop pa lang kami ng toughness mentally especially in the endgame," Alas said.

"Yun yung kailangan naming pag-aralan. Sabi ko nga sa kanila, we’re happy we won. But we can be happier kung masu-sustain natin yung lamang natin," he added.
