ROS back on track after issuing sound beating to NLEX
After an embarrassing loss to the Pincanto last week, Rain or Shine learned its lesson and gave NLEX a sound beating, making it back to .500 with a 3-3 record.

It didn't take long for Rain or Shine to bury its bitter memory of the previous loss to Kia.

The Elasto Painters are back on the winning track i nthe 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, scoring a convincing 97-86 win over the reeling NLEX Road Warriors Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.

After an embarrassing loss to the Pincanto last week, Rain or Shine learned its lesson and gave NLEX a sound beating, making it back to .500 with a 3-3 record.

The Elasto Painters jumped on the Road Warriors in the second quarter, opening up a 15-point lead at the break.

That ballooned to 21 points in the second half, which was enough of a cushion for ROS even after NLEX tried to make a last-minute rally.

"I wish we could have played like this last game, but ganun talaga basketball. I told the players the only way we can forget the game against Kia is basically to win this game," head coach Caloy Garcia said.

"I felt disappointed on how we performed in that game and I told them everybody who gets inside the court has to put that energy. Against Kia, kahit anong balasa ko, I think we were too overconfident against that team. But today, I hope that we can be consistent in playing this way," he added.

Maverick Ahanmisi led the way for ROS, firing 20 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists.

Three other players scored in double figures for the Elasto Painters with Gabe Norwood adding 13. James Yap and Chris Tiu scored 12 and 11 points respectively.
