Fonacier after big win over Ginebra: We're in desperation mode

Everyone didn't want to go down to 2-5, that was too dangerous of a place to be in. All of us wanted to fight." --- Larry Fonacier.
In a game where offense was hard to come by, Larry Fonacier came through for the NLEX Road Warriors.
As a team, NLEX was only good for 35.7 percent on offense, but the veteran sniper fired 7-of-12 from the field to anchor the Road Warriors in their big win over Brgy. Ginebra Saturday in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup.
Fonacier drilled 17 points in total, including a clutch go-ahead triple in the fourth period and a technical free throw with four seconds to go to give NLEX a crucial two-point lead.
According to Larry, it was imperative for NLEX to pick up this win.
"We're in desperation mode. Practice pa lang, we were fighting for our lives, for our season," Fonacier said.
"I guess it just translated today, everyone didn't want to go down to 2-5, that was too dangerous of a place to be in. All of us wanted to fight," he added.
And the Road Warriors fought hard against the Gin Kings, erasing a 14-point, second-half deficit to claim a crucial win.
Hopefully, the win over Ginebra can infuse the team with enough confidence to go on a run for the playoffs.
"When you get into a four-game losing skid, everyone's confidence is down," Larry said.
"We just needed to fight for our confidence again and hopefully, this win will give us some momentum going into our next games," he added.
