Banchero downplays Alaska's hot streak
"Teams make runs, we win six in a row but we haven't accomplished anything. It's still the regular season," --- Chris Banchero.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal --- After a forgettable 2017, 2018 has been good for Alaska so far.
Following an overtime win Sunday at the Ynares Center here, the Aces have picked up six straight victories in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, rising all the way to 6-2 for top 2 in the standings.
All of this us good for the team, but they know it's not good enough.
Point guard Chris Banchero, who had a nice game against Globalport with 16 points, certainly knows that the job is very far from over for the streaking Aces.
"That happens," Banchero said on Alaska' current run.
"Teams make runs, we win six in a row but we haven't accomplished anything. It's still the regular season," he added.
The moment of truth for Alaska will come in the playoffs, if the team makes it there, that's for sure.
Hopefully, this recent string of victories can help propel the Aces forward for when the games mean a little more.
"We'll use this momentum in the playoffs and we keep it going," Banchero said.
"It's a good 2018. I hope it continues," he added.
