"Hopefully, we're trying to get his team to release him earlier," Chot Reyes on Andray Blatche.
Whether or not Andray Blatche can join Gilas Pilipinas for its next pair of games in the World Cup Asian Qualifers later this month is still up in the air.
However, the national team is set to find out in the next couple of days.
According to head coach Chot Reyes, the Chinese Basketball Association is set to announce its set to give way for the Qualifers next week.
Meaning Blatche will likely rejoin Gilas with only one week left before the Philippines takes on Australia on the road on Feb. 22.
"The CBA, I think they will release players only on the 12th din or 13,' Reyes said.
"I think the the official CAB window is Feb. 12-26, dun ang release ng players," he added.
Still, Gilas is trying to secure an early release for Blatche, at least to give the naturalized big man a couple of extra days to train with the local crew.
The national team will find out soon enough how that goes.
"Hopefully, we're trying to get his team to release him earlier," Reyes said.
