So what's up with you Ricci?
Ricci Rivero speaks.
Ricci Rivero is still technically not officially in as a member of Gilas Pilipinas' #23for23 pool but the high-flying combo guard will start training with the national team regularly.
After asking for a release from De La Salle University to honor previous endorsement commitments, Ricci will ball with Gilas for now.
And that's fine with the Taft-based school. Again, for now.
"Wala pa, nag-ask lang ako kila coach if I can train with them," Rivero said on his inclusion to the Gilas pool.
"As of now, yeah kasi pumayag yung La Salle na... sabi nila, for now you can practice with them [Gilas] first while you're not training with the [Green Archers]," he added.
As for his actual status with the Green Archers, Rivero offered little explanation.
He's basically going with the flow now.
"Sabi nung last meeting, if I'm not mistaken, magme-meeting pa kami ulit about what's gonna happen next," Ricci said.
"Sabi kasi be ready lang and all, ganiyan. Pero yun nga, as of now, honor ko muna yung mga napirmahan ko and all. So go with the flow muna," he added.
Ricci's current status with La Salle caused a lot of uproar and generated multiple rumors.
As for him moving on to another school other than La Salle, Rivero says there's basically nothing to it.
"Wala pa kaming kinausap, wala pang kumausap samin. Di ko alam kung may nag-try na mag-reach out pero wala pa talaga kaming na-accomodate na ibang schools," he said.
